heavy duty mechanic
RANGE OF PAY
$38.00 – $40.00/hr (based on experience), overtime after 8 hours, 9.6% vacation pay
HEALTH & DENTAL
Extended health and dental benefits after probationary period. 50/50 contribution
QUALIFICATIONS
- Either local to Acadia Valley/Oyen area or willing to commute
- Basic safety tickets required; Standard First Aid, H2S Alive, CSTS 2020 and Common Safety Orientation, TDG and WHMIS2015 will be provided
- Minimum class 5 drivers license, preference will be given to those who hold a class 1 license
- Clean drivers abstract
- Vortrax has a Drug and Alcohol program; pre-employment screening is required
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Experience with heavy equipment repairs
- Preferable experience on heavy truck and trailers including concrete mixers trucks as well as wiring will be considered a strong asset
- Computer/laptop experience is required
- Must be self-motivated and organized
- Mechanical ability and an interest in equipment and engines
- The ability to think logically and keep up with changes in technology
- Ability to work alone and in a team environment
- Must be able to work under direction
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform field maintenance/services
- Keep equipment clean and maintained as per scheduled service intervals
- Diagnose faults and malfunctions
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that the work done meets manufacturers’ specifications and legal regulations
- Write service reports as per company policy

SCHEDULE
Typically Monday to Saturday with Sundays off

$32.00/hr (based on experience), overtime after 8 hours, 9.6% vacation pay, living allowance
HEALTH & DENTAL

QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic safety tickets: Standard First Aid, H2S Alive, Ground Disturbance, CSTS and Common Safety Orientation, TDG and WHMIS2015 will be provided
- Minimum Class 5 driver’s licence
- Vortrax has a Drug and Alcohol program, all new hires will be required to pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol screen and maintain testing standard
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Dozer operators to complete lease builds, cleanups and reclamation work
- Conduct pre-use inspection of unit and conduct daily maintenance such as greasing
- Ability to use app’s to conduct equipment inspections and time sheets
Preference will be given to those individuals that can run multiple equipment such as excavators, graders, etc.
